Adopting Western Theme for Living Room
Western
living room is usually associated with warmth. Even when you
look at pictures of western living room, you
can feel the warmth that blanket the room. Nothing is better than having your
home full of warmth and comfort. Thus, it’s not unusual if you dream to have
your living room in a western theme as well.
If you want to have a western living room, there are several things you
can consider. Firstly, many western living room
designs use woods as the material of many parts of the living room. This wood
utilization is what makes the living room appear to be warm. The use of wood
can come from the furniture, the floor, the walls, or even the ceiling.
Secondly, you have to
take a look at the lighting. Western living room
designs mostly apply a rather dim lighting for the room. Again, the dim
lighting make the room even warmer and even cozier than if you only apply the
first point. You can install small lamps in several amounts or use few lamps
with minimal or low watt. However, this doesn’t mean you need to make the room
dark. It’s always important to have adequate lighting.
Next, most of the time,
the seating used in western living room is a sofa or a couch rather than a
common chair. Couch is a comfortable seat so you can have better time spending
your night in your living room with your family.
Wall paintings are also
commonly found in western living rooms. They can add characters to your living
room too. And last but not least, a fireplace is always a good thing. Many western
countries have the four seasons going on and many, if not all, households have a
fireplace in their house. However, for fireplace, it’s optional whether you need
to have it or not.
Summary: Western living
room always offers warmth and comfort. Those aspects come from wood it uses, dim
lighting, couch, wall paintings and fireplace.
